GPT Live: more fluid voice conversations

OpenAI introduced a model that can listen and speak at the same time. It targets voice conversations; it does not automatically integrate with home equipment.

What was announced

On 8 July, OpenAI introduced GPT Live, a model designed for more natural voice conversations. Its highlighted feature is full-duplex operation: it can listen and speak simultaneously instead of relying exclusively on strictly separated turns.

The announcement concerns voice interaction. It does not mean an assistant can automatically control a heat pump, inverter or connected home. Operating equipment requires specific integrations, permissions and compatibility.

In a household context, such conversation can help explain terms or prepare questions before requesting a quotation. An AI explanation does not replace installation calculations or verification of legal conditions. Availability of the feature must also be checked in the service being used, rather than assumed from the model announcement alone.

What it means for your home

Useful for explaining concepts and preparing questions; verify technical decisions and grant conditions with official sources and specialists.
