Iberdrola extends smart management to heating, cooling and hot water
The new Advanced Smart Assistant function initially targets Airzone installations. Advertised savings depend on the home: this is neither a public grant nor a guaranteed payment.

What was announced
On 19 October, Iberdrola España announced an Advanced Smart Assistant function to manage heating, cooling and hot water automatically. The company says it adjusts operation towards cheaper electricity periods while respecting the user’s comfort settings. This is a commercial demand-flexibility offer, not a new public subsidy.
The initial rollout targets installations with Airzone devices integrated with the Assistant. Owning just any heat pump or connected thermostat is not sufficient. The service page requires a household electricity contract with Iberdrola Clientes, contracted power below 15 kW, an Assistant subscription and a linked compatible device.
The company estimates annual savings of €100–300. Its examples for a 100 m² home with four occupants are around €100 with air conditioning and up to €300 with an air-source heat pump system. These are commercial estimates dependent on equipment and managed consumption, not a promise of net savings for every household.
Before signing up, obtain written confirmation of compatibility, service fees, tariff, how the benefit is applied and cancellation terms. Compare the full annual cost and check what control you retain over temperature and hot water. The announcement does not detail all these costs and conditions; the maximum advertised saving alone is not a basis for replacing equipment.
What it means for your home
Useful when assessing flexibility in an existing system. Confirm compatibility and total cost first; the advertised saving is not a calculation for your home.
