GoodWe ESA adds Amber SmartShift in Australia for market-responsive home battery control
The 10 October announcement opens the integration to compatible ESA systems in five Australian areas. It is not a Spanish service launch.

What was announced
On 10 October 2026 GoodWe announced public availability of its Amber SmartShift integration following beta testing. It covers compatible ESA home storage systems in ACT, New South Wales, South Australia, southeast Queensland and Victoria.
SmartShift uses forecasts of household consumption, solar production and wholesale electricity prices to plan charging, discharging and possible exports. The plan is updated, and owners can override it in the app. Savings and earnings are not guaranteed; they depend on market conditions and the installation.
Eligible existing ESA systems can join without replacing the battery. Owners need Amber as their electricity retailer, compatibility approval, communication authorisation and an online inverter using recommended software. There is a monthly subscription, and enrolment can take up to ten business days or longer if additional site requirements apply.
For homeowners in Spain, the practical lesson is that storage management matters alongside battery capacity. This announcement does not establish SmartShift availability for Spanish electricity contracts or compatibility with every GoodWe inverter. Check the precise model, market and service terms before buying.
What it means for your home
Compare the local control services available for the exact battery system, as well as its capacity; Australian integration does not establish Spanish availability.
