Spain presents its charging network framework draft
The draft national framework addresses alternative fuels and charging on European routes. Consultation closed on 2 October; the draft is not an adopted plan.

What was announced
On 14 September, the government presented a draft National Policy Framework for alternative-fuel infrastructure. Relevant elements include electric charging and infrastructure development along the trans-European transport network corridors.
The public consultation ended on 2 October. This news concerns the presentation of the draft; that step does not establish that the entire framework has been approved or that every planned charging location is already built and operating.
An electric road trip still requires checking the stations currently available, their charging power and payment options. A national framework indicates the direction of infrastructure investment rather than replacing those checks. For everyday driving, the possibility of charging at home remains a separate decision from the development of roadside infrastructure.
What it means for your home
Before choosing a car or charger, check contracted power, charging type and compatibility.
