Electricity aggregation: new rules in preparation
MITECO consulted on independent aggregators and multiple electricity retailers. The deadline was 3 September. Participation requires meeting the applicable rules.

What was announced
On 13 August, MITECO consulted on technical developments for independent aggregation and the participation of several electricity retailers. Aggregation brings consumption or generation resources together so they can be coordinated within the electricity system's permitted mechanisms.
The deadline for comments was 3 September. The publication concerns the development of rules; it does not establish that every household can immediately contract all the services described.
For a home with a battery, solar panels or schedulable loads, flexibility may be relevant. Before changing a contract, check metering, equipment compatibility, participation conditions and remuneration. Owning a battery does not guarantee earnings, and an aggregator does not automatically replace the electricity retailer or the obligations in the existing supply contract.
What it means for your home
Distinguish a proposal from an effective rule and review the official text before changing a contract or installation.
