Asturias: proposed electricity-network plan for 2030 includes nine substation yards
On 14 October MITECO outlined revisions following public consultation. The proposal includes 87 km of new lines and upgrades; it is neither a household grant nor an individual connection approval.

What was announced
MITECO and the Asturias regional government reviewed the updated electricity-planning proposal for 2030 on 14 October. The ministry says the changes follow examination of 2,566 submissions to the public consultation. The document remains a proposal under consideration, rather than a list of completed works.
For Asturias, it proposes nine substation yards, 87 km of new lines and upgrades to another 256 km. Priority projects include the Central Electrical Ring, the Asturias-León corridor and a synchronous compensator in Santa María de Grado to improve system stability.
The proposal envisages serving 2.6 GW of additional demand from the transmission network. Industry accounts for the largest share, although housing and transport needs are also considered. More than 1.5 GW of renewable-generation access capacity is envisaged, mainly for wind and storage.
For someone planning an electrified home, this is background on regional infrastructure development. It opens no household grant and guarantees no capacity for a particular plot. A domestic project’s connection, power increase and timetable need their own check with the distribution company; the 2030 planning horizon is not a promised connection date.
What it means for your home
Background for project planning in Asturias. A home’s available capacity still needs an individual check, without treating the proposal as completed infrastructure.
